It’s 30 Degrees In Hurghada!!

I’m getting a bit fed up now of this everlasting winter weather even though it’s officially spring-time. Strangely we’ve gone a little quiet “bookings-wise” when you would think we would have people queueing up to escape the arctic blasts we’re suffering.

The weather today here in the North West is just 1 degree! In Hurghada it’s a sweltering 30 degrees and in Luxor, where the Nile cruises start its’ still a balmy 26 degrees! I wrote a blog post in December entitled “7 Reasons To Take A Nile Cruise“.

I should re-write it and add an eighth…the bloody weather!

We’ve got some great prices for Nile cruise departures over the coming weeks and it would be a great alternative to staying here shivering.

Or why not take a 1 week Nile cruise followed by a further week in Makadi Bay, near Hurghada at somewhere like the excellent Makadi Palace where we stayed over Christmas?

By the time you get back here to the UK the weather will have (must have!!) improved.

Makadi Palace Hotel, Makadi Bay

Every Christmas Barbara and I take our grown-up family away for a week’s holiday. This started when the kids were in their late teens and “Christmas” for us usually took the form of Christmas dinner spent with the kids who then subsequently disappeared with their pals leaving Barbara and I to wash up and watch the dismal offerings on “Christmas TV”.

So a few years ago we thought that if we offered to take them on holiday over Christmas it would mean that they would spend a lot longer with us and we’d have some really great “family time”. A little selfish I know but it worked and we’ve been doing it for over 6 years now. It does cost us a “few bob” but it’s been worth it for the memories we’ve created for us all. Nile Cruise and Hurghada Testimonial

We’ve just added a new “Nile Cruise and Hurghada” testimonial on the main Nile Cruises 4u website.

Our clients recently returned from a 1 week Nile Cruise followed by a further week in Hurghada.

You can read the testimonial along with many other on our Nile Cruise Testimonials page or, to save you time, you can read it below:

Dear Barbara,

If you are thinking of going to Egypt or are thinking of going again – now is the time!

The Nile is quiet, the temples and tombs are empty (except for their righful occupants!).

We had a week on the Nile in September on the Sun Boat IV and what a wonderful week. Excellent food and accommodation, perfect service, an informative and enthusiastic guide. For 40 years I have always wanted to see the Nile and it’s temples, after a visit to the exhibition in the British Museum back in the 1970’s. It was everything I hoped for and more and the visit to Abu Simbel was unworldly.

This is really a great time to visit Egypt as it’s a little quieter than normal as the country recovers from the Revolution, everything is back to normal, the Egyptian people are so warm and welcoming and proud to show their “new” country off and the weather is fantastic at the moment.

If you would like more details of any of our Nile Cruise and Red Sea offers please call either Barbara or Colin on Freephone 0808 1089 100.
