As you know we specialise in Nile Cruises but if you are looking for something else that is “water-based” you might want to consider a Gulet Cruise.
Barbara and I have enjoyed 2 Gulet Cruises to date and are thinking of taking a third one later this year.
Essentially a Gulet is a traditional Turkish sailing boat. Very much like a large yacht. They are pretty luxurious in comparison to a standard yacht however and you have a crew that sail and navigate the Gulet for you as well as prepare all your meals which are eaten in the open air at the rear of the Gulet. They take about 12 to 14 people and you soon get to know everyone because you are eating and sailing together.
Although you have excellent cabins with en-suite facilities, because it’s so warm in Turkey you end up sleeping “under the stars” on the deck.
It’s really quite an experience.
