The Ultimate Egypt Tour gives you two weeks visiting all the main classical and historic sites of Egypt. Visit the Tombs and Temples along the Nile and Lake Nasser, Abu Simbel and the Pyramids of Giza

 

Explore the heart of Egypt on this fabulous cruise, from spectacular Nile-side temples to atmospheric Abu Simbel and sparkling Lake Nasser to the secluded, sun-swept temples of Nuba.

Day Details
Day 1
Depart the UK to Luxor. You will be met upon arrival and transferred to your chosen cruise boat (transfer time approx 30 minutes). Moored in Luxor, the friendly crew will welcome you aboard, ensuring you settle into your cabin. Overnight in Luxor.
 
Day 2
Today cross over to the West Bank of the Nile for the first excursion, The Valley of the Kings. From here visit the impressive Temple of Hatshepsut. Afterwards there is a visit to the enormous statues of the Colossi of Memnon.
 
Day 3


Visit to the Temple of Horus at Edfu. The cruise continues upstream to Kom Ombo where there is a late afternoon visit to the Ptolemic Temple dedicated to the gods Haroeris and Sobek. Afterwards still sailing upstream the boat will arrive in Aswan.
 

Day 4
Visit the High Dam, the Old Granite Quarries, the Unfinished Obelisk and then by boat to the Temple of Philae on Agilika Island. After lunch board a Felucca, a traditional Egyptian sailing boat and sail around picturesque Kitchener Island.
Day 5
Transfer by road to Abu Simbel to join your cruise ship for a stay of 3 nights. Visit the temples of Pharaoh Ramses II and his beloved wife Nefertari. In the evening there is an opportunity to experience a Sound & Light show in front of the temples at Abu Simbel. (optional excursion, ticket not included)
 
Day 6

 

Sail to Kasr Ibrim and view the citadel of Kasr Ibrim. Visit the temples of Amada, Derr and the tomb of Penout, viceroy of Nubia.

Day 7
Visit to Wadi El Seboua temple,the temple of Dakka, and visit the Greco-Roman temple of Meharakka.Overnight on board at Wadi El Seboua.
Day 8
Visit the Kalabsha temple and the hemi-speos of Beit El Wali, the kiosk of Kertassi, erected in honour of goddess Isis. Disembark in Aswan and travel by road to Luxor for a 3 night stay.
 
Day 9 - 10
 

At leisure in Luxor. On one of the days,visit the Temple of Luxor and the Temple of Karnak(included). Take time to explore the bustling streets of Luxor, offering a good selection of traditional shops and classic cafés. In the evening there is an optional excursion to the exhilarating Sound and Light show at Karnak Temple.
 
Day11-13
Fly to Cairo for a 3 night stay at the Le Meridien Pyramids hotel. Take optional tours to the Pyramids and Sakkara and the Egypt Museum.
 
Day 14
Transfer to Cairo airport for your return flight to the UK

Life Onboard: All the 49 standard cabins are reasonably sized and face out over the Nile. Located over 3 decks each of the modern cabins is decorated in traditional wood with attractive furnishings and feature twin beds, air-conditioning, en-suite facilities, hairdryer, mini-fridge, safety deposit box and satellite plasma TV.
Dining: Your cruise includes full board. Meals are buffet style and include a good selection of international dishes. Afternoon tea is served whilst sailing. Evening entertainment includes a galabiyah party, folklore show, Oriental night with belly dancing, and a nightly disco in the lounge bar.
Cabins: All cabins are outside cabins and have twin or double beds; air-conditioning; satellite TV; central video system; fridge; safety deposit box; hairdryer; shower and wc.
Tipping: Tipping is expected in Egypt. Expect to budget about £30 for tips. For your convenience this may be collected at the beginning of the cruise.
