The Dahabiya is named "Hadeel" which, in Arabic, means the gentle cooing of pigeon's. It is also used as a term to express affection, friendship, peace, and harmony with everything and everyone around. Dahabiyas are beautifully crafted sailboats which were a very popular means of Nile travel amongst the wealthy and aristocrats in the good old days. In more recent times, Dahabiyas have experienced a revival in popularity for crafted sailboats of yesteryear with all the modern comforts and luxuries of today's world.

A wonderful alternative to today's large Nile cruise boats, A Dahabiya conjures up memories of a bygone area on the Nile, a river steeped in mystery and romance, and rich in the history of ancient Egypt. It offers the opportunity to experience the Nile under sail, enjoying the peace, serenity and romanticism that only a sailboat can provide.

Cabin facilities:

Measuring 45m long x7.5m wide, the Hadeel has only 8 beautifully appointed cabins (3.2mx4.25m in size), each with its own ensuite, including shower, hand basin, toilet and hairdryer. Each cabin is also equipped with a private safety deposit box and reverse cycle air conditioning.

Ship facilities:

A stylish lounge, dining room , Jacuzzi and the spacious and partially shaded top desk offers guests the opportunity to recline on comfortable deck chairs enjoying the Nile vistas, sunbathing, dining, or watching the breathtaking Nile sunsets.

Itinerary:

Day 1:

London Heathrow to Cairo. On arrival you will be met and assisted with airport formalities and transferred to the 5* Le Meridien Heliopolis based on BB for an overnight stay.

Day 2:

Transfer to Cairo airport for your domestic flight to Luxor. Transfer from Luxor Airport to the Hadeel Dahabiyya for a 7 night stay based on full board. Visit to Karnak and Luxor temples. overnight in Luxor. (Overnight in Luxor)

Day 3:

Visit the west bank of the Nile to visit the Valley of Kings, and the Queens, Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon.

Day 4:

Luxor to Esna. All day sailing. (Overnight in Esna)

Day 5:

Esna to Edfu. Continue sailing to El Kab, visit the ruins of one of Egypt�s oldest cities, continue sailing to Edfu visit the temple of Horus. (Overnight at Fawaza Island)

Day 6:

Fawaza to Kom Ombo. Sail to Gebel El Silsila where the stones for the temples in Egypt were quarried. After the tour we continue southwards and overnight on an island just outside Kom Ombo

Day 7:

Kom Ombo to Aswan. Morning visit to Kom Ombo temple, dedicated both to the crocodile God Sobek as well as Haroreris. Continue sailing to Aswan

Day 8:

Aswan. Visit to Philae temple, Rest of day at leisure. Possibility to go to the Nubian Museum or to take a stroll in the souq of Aswan (Supplement Applies)

Day 9:

Transfer to Aswan airport for your domestic flight to Cairo. On Arrival transfer to the 5* Grand Hyatt or Marriott for an overnight stay. Enjoy a full day tour of the Pyramids and Egyptian Museum (Supplement Applies).

Day 10:

Transfer to Cairo airport for your international flight to London Heathrow.
