This wonderful 15 day trip includes the wonders of Ancient Egypt with a 7 night Nile Cruise followed by 3 nights in Cairo to visit one the remaining Wonders of The Word, the Great Pyramids at Giza ending with a relaxing and luxurious 4 nights on The Red Sea in one of the exciting Red Sea resorts such as El Gouna, known as the "Venice of The Red Sea".

Here is a typical Nile Cruise, Cairo and Red Sea holiday itinerary:

Day 1:

Fly from Gatwick or Manchester to Luxor. Upon arrival transfer to your Nile cruise boat for a seven night cruise.

Day 2:

Morning visit to the Valley of the Kings - the site of Tutankhamen's tomb, the Temple of Queen Hatsheput and the Valley of the Queens. Final stop of the day will be at the Colossi of Memnon before arriving back at the boat in time for lunch. Afternoon at leisure whilst the boat sails to Edfu via the Esna lock.

Day 3:

Morning visit to the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the god Horus and the largest, most preserved temple in Egypt. Afternoon set sail for Aswan.

Day 4:

Morning excursion to the High Dam, the Old Granite Quarries and the Unfinished Obelisk. There is also a trip by boat to the Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis and occupying a picturesque location on an island.

Day 5:

Today can be spent at leisure wandering around Aswan or on optional excursions. The most popular excursion is to the temple of Abu Simbel, Egypt's greatest ancient treasure after the Pyramids. Late afternoon sail to Kom-Ombo and a visit to the Ptolemic Temple. Overnight either in Kom Ombo or Edfu.

Day 6:

All day at leisure sailing downstream to Luxor via the Esna Lock.

Day 7:

Morning visit to the Temple of Karnak and the papyrus museum. In the afternoon visit the Temple of Luxor after which there is time to explore the markets of Luxor. That evening there is an optional excursion to the Sound and Light show at the Karnak temple.

Day 8:

Fly from Luxor to Cairo for a 3 night stay at your chosen hotel.


Day 9:

Optional morning visit to see the Great Pyramids of Giza and Sphinx. Afternoon at leisure, time to relax by the pool or to do some shopping in the many bazaars. In the evening a chance to take an optional excursion to see the fantastic Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids.

Day 10:

Optional morning excursion to the Egyptian Museum to see the treasures of Tutankhamen. Afternoon at leisure or you may want to take one of our optional tours to the stunning mosques of Islamic Cairo and the intriguing early churches of Coptic Cairo. In the evening, enjoy an optional dinner cruise on the Nile whilst watching a traditional folklore show.


Day 11:

Transfer to the airport for the short flight to Hurghada. On arrival transfer to your hotel in El Gouna (30 minutes) for a stay of 4 nights

Days 12 - 14:

Time to relax and enjoy the many facilities this resort has to offer. For the adventurous why not take a trip on a Bedouin safari to discover this nomadic people and their way of life.

Day 15:

Early morning transfer by road which takes approx 4 hours to Luxor for your return flight back to the UK.

Launched in October 2009 the spacious Viking Princess offers modern comfortable accommodation to give you an enjoyable Nile Cruise experience.  It is decorated in the same style as the excellent Royal Viking and the emphasis on board is very much on creating a stylish and intimate ambience with spacious interiors and traditional wood furnishings.

Barbara and I visited the Viking Princess in November last year and were really impressed with the excellent cabins, the overall feel of quality and the standards of hygiene and safety.  We would highly recommend a Nile cruise on the Viking Princess.

The spacious restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner is situated on the middle deck.  The lounge bar offering a range of drinks is a good place to sit and watch the nightly entertainment which includes a traditional belly dancer and Galabeya party.  On the large sundeck there is a swimming pool for a frereshing dip during the day and a bar serving drinks plus sunbeds on which to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Nile.

Accommodation:

All the modern 49 air-conditioned cabins, (shown below) face out over the Nile and measure 16 square metres.  Decorated in traditional wood with attractive furnishings they all feature twin beds, en-suite facilities, hairdryer, mini-fridge, safety deposit box and satellite plasma TV with music system.

Barbara and I (Colin) have sailed on the Royal Viking on 2 separate holidays and it is one of out favourite Nile Cruise ships and we highly recommend it.

The restaurant located on the lower deck offers a wonderful variety of international dishes whilst the lounge bar situated on the main deck is an ideal place to socialise and relax in the evening.

The spacious sun deck located on the upper deck provides a relaxing place to sit and enjoy the views of the Nile. There is a plunge pool and bar offering drinks for all to enjoy.

Accommodation:

All of the spacious and modern 68 cabins are located over three decks and are air-conditioned with a full length opening panoramic window and Juliette balcony. The "Alexander The Great" is more than just a cruise ship it is a truly luxurious motor yacht that is both elegant and sophisticated offering the ultimate in comfort and service on the Nile.

The fabulous sun deck is provided with a shaded area and loungers to relax and enjoy the views of the Nile. There is a swimming pool and Jacuzzi plus a bar offering drinks and light snacks.

During your stay on the Alexander The Great breakfast, lunch and dinner is included and all meals are taken in the 'Red Fiesta' restaurant situated on the third deck. This spacious restaurant has large panoramic windows overlooking the Nile and offers a variety of international cuisine with buffet breakfasts and lunches and a la carte dinners, whilst the barbeque on the pool deck is a great place to enjoy traditional oriental food and music under the stars. There is a bar and lounge located on the fourth deck which provides the ideal meeting place.

We can arrange super hotel accommodation at a selection of Red Sea Resorts such as Hurghada, Makadi Bay and Taba. However our personal favourite and recommendation is the beautiful resort of "El Gouna".

El Gouna is built on a series of lagoons and is known as the "Venice of The Red Sea" and boast a wide selection of hotels, cafes, restaurants, bars, beaches and shopping facilities.

It also has a superb marina and one of our favourite hotels, the Three Corners Ocean View, is situated right on the marina.
